  Management Contract with Friendship Inns to operate the Ramada Inn

Seaside resort hotel popular for executive retreats, meetings, training seminars, and summer vacations. Facilities inclued 120-seat fine dining room, lounge, coffee shop, 120-seat sports bar and Fitness Centre with racquet sports, indoor pool, whirlpool and sauna.
Over a period of 5 1/2 years developed a strong market for weekend getaways, and golf, wildlife and nature packages to strengthen the shoulder season.
Developed strong community ties which increased local market share in food, beverage and catering functions.
Supervised extensive renovations facilitated to accommodate market changes.

1982 - 1988 - INN OF THE SEA RESORT

Yellow Point, British Columbia Canada.
Resident Manager
A 60-unit strata titled waterfront destination resort with gourmet restaurant, lounge, spa, outdoor pool, meeting rooms, tennis, moorage, and other recreational facilities. Responsibilities during final construction stages were to define the resort's market and establish a concept of operation. Responsibilities included developing marketing strategy and literature, assisting in design and furniture selection, recruiting and training staff, and implementation of accounting controls and operational procedures. Developed the resort's reputation as a first-class executive retreat for corporate meetings, training seminars, and year-round family holidays. Off-season promotions such as murder mystery weekends, nature tours and theme packages were the backbone of the business during winter months.

  Responsible for the supervision of managed and company owned properties ranging from 50 to 320 rooms. Conducted periodic inspections to ensure maintenance of established procedures and controls and to review performance with managers. Reported to the President on the viability of proposed acquisitions of hotel properties determined through site inspections, financial analysis, and projected performance.
• Director of Training
  Responsible for implementation of company policies and procedures and training of management and staff in newly acquired hotels. Established company operational standards compatible with various franchise properties operated by the company. Developed standard operating procedures and training manuals.
